Nidatio is a Latin word, which in Hungarian means „”to embed””. The implantation of a fertilized egg in the lining of the uterus.
The fertilized egg, or zygote, migrates in the fallopian tube for 5-7 days. During this time it begins to divide, with more and more cells clinging together during the migration period. Once it arrives in the uterine cavity, usually on day 7, it is already made up of many cells, at which point it is called a blastocyst. It takes another 2-4 days to develop further and reach the uterine wall.
This is followed by implantation, which is the process of becoming embedded in the lining of the uterus. This process usually takes 5 days. Thus, implantation is completed on days 11-15 after fertilization. After fertilization – the start of the thought, the idea, the fertilization of the mind – the most important thing is nesting. This is the place from which to start a great journey. And to make something into a bigger something.
To take a single cell and create the basis for the development of a whole system. Embracing eternal possibility. The possibility of anything. Because genetics is the basis, but what that genetics becomes, what kind of body, depends on the environment. On what the first accommodation the developing being receives, and then on the nourishment it receives – the materials, the designers, the builders. And if the start is right, and the right supporters and collaborators are in place, anything is possible.
It is possible to create and live in and create a beautiful body, shape, health, happiness, quality, relationships, and a good life. To start on a successful journey. In life and at work.
For me, as a pediatrician, as a woman, and as a mother, the mysticism of nesting is beautiful. The cell cluster is wandering and looking for a place. Trying to find the most ideal place. The most nourishing area. The safety. Harmony. It responds and says, good, that’s good. That’s it. This place, this way is good. Let it begin.
